City Awards Bid to Widen Brushy Creek Road

by smariani on August 18, 2010

The city of Cedar Park recently awarded a bid to RGM Constructors of Pflugerville to widen Brushy Creek Road from 183 to Parmer Lane. From Impact News:

“In addition to added lanes, the project features a raised median, more road lighting, wide shared-use lanes for bicycles and sidewalks.

Councilman Tony Dale described the current road conditions, specifically poor lighting and deer crossing, as dangerous and said he welcomed the improvements which target safety.”

This area of Cedar Park has needed safer road conditions for some time now. Residents in the surrounding communities should benefit from the added sidewalks and crossings, which are increasingly important with the opening of LISD’s new John Gupton stadium, and last year’s opening of Brushy Creek Sports Park.
