Due to the Steiner Ranch fires, the Leander ISD announced the following schools will be closed on Tuesday, September 6:
- Canyon Ridge Middle School
- Laura Bush Elementary
- River Ridge Elementary
- Steiner Ranch Elementary
- Four Points Middle School
- Vandegrift High School
Vandegrift High School will remain a Red Cross shelter for Steiner Ranch fire survivors. ALL athletic, fine arts, practices, extracurricular activities, and booster club meetings, are canceled. The District will reassess the situation on Tuesday.

Leander ISD has updated their status this morning:
All LISD schools and offices will be closed on Friday, Feb. 4 due to inclement weather. Parent Link/Insider is experiencing technical difficulties.
All schools in LISD will open two hours later than their normal start time on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011. All LISD buses will run their regular routes, only two hours later. There will be no morning Pre-K.
Please monitor the LISD Web site, as well as local radio, TV stations and news media Web sites for any late developments. In addition, automated telephone Insiders and e-mail Insiders will be sent from LISD with up-to-the-minute changes.
