About Cedar Park

Cedar Park is just 20 miles north of downtown Austin in the Central Texas Hill Country.  It is also only 90 miles from San Antonio, 160 miles from Dallas, and 185 miles from Houston.

Among the fastest growing cities in the nation, Cedar Park is home to approximately 52,000 people.  Its population has grown tremendously over the past 2 decades, increasing 600% since 1990.  Much of this growth came from residents relocating to Cedar Park from throughout Texas, Arizona, California, Florida, and many other states.

Residents have found there is much to love about Cedar Park.  It offers easy access to surrounding job centers and recreation areas in Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown and Lake Travis, as well as great local schools, affordable homes, shopping, and parks.

The city is served by a few key transportation routes, including the east-west RM 1431, the new north-south 183A tollroad, and the north-south Parmer Lane.  For air travel, Cedar Park is only 35 miles from Austin Bergstrom International Airport, which is served by American, America West, Continental, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Northwest, Southwest, and United Airlines.

Students in Cedar Park attend schools in the Leander Independent School District, one of the highest rated districts in the area.  Cedar Park has 2 high schools, 3 middle schools, and 9 elementary schools, all of which have earned Acceptable, Recognized, or Exemplary ratings from TEA.

As its name suggests, Cedar Park is home to beautiful, tree-covered streets.  Homes and land vary from recently constructed townhomes, master-planned communities, and custom estates to established neighborhoods and undeveloped greenspace.

In addition to pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods, Cedar Park offers tons of outdoor activities and parkland.  Some of the top favorites are Brushy Creek Lake Park and Brushy Creek Recreation Area, adjacent to a number of other parks along the Brushy Creek Regional Trail.  Runners, hikers, bikers, and parents with strollers can follow the creek-front trail for miles from Cedar Park to Round Rock.

Whether you’re already living in the Austin metro area or are considering the move from another state or country, now is a great time to make Cedar Park your hometown.
