The City of Cedar Park held a ribbon cutting celebration for the Cedar Park Recreation Center on Saturday, July 11th.

City officials announced that the project has come in $1,149,037.06 under budget. The total price on the 47,500 square foot facility comes in at approximately $9.8 million dollars. Cedar Park residents approved the use of bond funds for the construction of a Recreation Center in the 2001 and 2007 Bond elections.

The Recreation Center houses two full court gymnasiums cardio/weight workout areas, group exercise rooms, meeting rooms, a game room, a babysitting room, an arts & crafts room, and an elevated walking/jogging track. Doors officially opened for full access to the facility on Monday, July 13th.

Current hours of operation are:
Monday – Thursday: 5:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Friday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Sunday: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Usage fees vary, but Cedar Park families can use the Rec Center for $25/month or $240/year.

The Rec Center is located in the Cedar Park Town Center development at the northwest corner of the intersection of FM 1431 and 183A.  To get there, go north on Discovery Blvd. (near the Railyard shopping center) and turn left on Main.

  1. Does the new rec center have an indoor pool? If it does, how much would it be to use the pool for an individual living in Leander? Also, is there a phone number to call for more info?

  2. no pool at the rec center, just the amenities listed above. too bad, an indoor pool would be great. currently there are 3 cedar park pools; veterans memorial park, milburn park and buttercup park. milburn park pool is open year round. all are outdoor pools. there is also a water playscape at brushy creek park (not a pool). you can check out more information on their website:

  3. It is actually $120.00 per year for Cedar Park residents. Very cheap! They have locker rooms with showers too. Bring your own lock. Very nice center. I do wish they had raquetball and an indoor pool, but nice anyways>

  4. There is a statement on their website that says parking charges vary per event, but they dont give a price range. I had to call to find this out.

  5. What ckasses are taught at the Rec center? Is there a posted schedule
    of exercses, lectures, other classes?

  6. Are you able to offer space for other types of instruction classes such as cookie, cupcake and cake decorating classes. They are really fun and they seem to be hot right now. Thank you Audrey
