Now that the rain has passed, you can head over to Veteran’s Memorial Pool to celebrate Memorial Day.
To kick off the summer swimming season, the City of Cedar Park’s Park and Recreation Department has created a new event called “Pool-A-Palooza”.
“Last year the public had a blast on opening day of Veterans Memorial Pool listening to live music. So this year we decided to have an event that no one else in the area does,” said Bryan Reno, Cedar Park’s Aquatic Coordinator. “Pool-A-Palooza is a combination of all the things the local community loves: live music, art, water, and fun.”
Pool-A-Palooza will feature live music, art projects, CD toss, concessions, a Cannon Ball Contest at 3pm, and an Air Guitar Contest at 5:30pm. Then at sundown, The Parks and Recreation Department will show the movie “Ratatouille”.
Standard pool admission fees will apply: Kids, 3 and under – free; Kids, 4 to 8 – $2; Students, 9 to 17 – $4; Adults, 18 and older – $5; and Senior Citizens, 60 + – $2. Veterans will get in free to the event with a military I.D.
